I am just really curious about the Volvo S40 and the Saab 93 against the Audi A4 (stock form).
The Volvo and Saab were my other choices before I got the Audi and I just want to know if anyone ever had one or raced one.
If you had experienced with them, would you tell me how they performed.
I saw the Saab 93 today and it looked pretty good. Well, all the sudden this thought came.

I would take an S40 T5 anyday...those puppies are fast

 

According to Modernracer.com, the T5 will slightly beet the A4 3.0 to 60 (6.9 Vs. 6.6 seconds) and it's a tie at the quarter mile (15.2 seconds). Information regarding the 9-3 is incomplete so information regarding quarter mile times are not listed, but the 0-60 times are the same as the A4 (6.9). I think that if they all race the best driver would win, not necessarily the fastest car.

Note: this information is based on the B6 3.0 times. The site does not list the 1.8 or 2.0 times which tend to be slightly slower than the 2.8 or 3.0 times with stock models.

 

I "raced" a 03 9-3 and a 03 TL with a 2.8. From a dig we were dead even, third gear the saab had a car length on the TL and 1.5 on me. By fourth it was gone. That thing as top end power.

 

very nice cars though seen as the old mans car just like the Saab/ jag/ Lexus/ merc/ BMW I could go on forever lol but they are the creators of cars today, a car is what you make of it not what others think

All three cars are very evenly matched up. The best driver would win, regardless of which car they were driving.

 

I'm still glad I got an Audi

 

I used to own an S60 and I loved it. Very comfortable and very reliable. If I went back to Volvo, I'd have to get an S60R. My buddy has one that is fast as *****.

 

these were my choices too, i got the audi because i had one before, i love quattro, and it was cheap. personally id take the s40 t5 awd. fast and surprisingly has some tuners that make it kick a$$. the saab is just fast and with some performance upgrade from abbot tuning, i,e chip, exhaust, turbo, its just rediulously fast. so in short the saab and volvo are quite faster than a stock audi. my friends s60r has beating many s4's, and the saab 900 turbo i test drove flew like nothing else, but did understeer like a mother.
