Want new wheels- complete newbie on subject!
 

I am a poor highschool student (17), but have done a few relatively cheap exterioir mods such as tints, clear corners, blackout grill, debadging, etc. After all of that was done, the only thing that will completely change the look of my ride is wheels, but I do not know where to start and have a few questions.

My Audi: Black on Black 2000 w/ sport suspension. 1.8T Fronttrack

I am looking at either Flik Wasps or Flik Artic-black with polished lip.
These are extremely cheap and are probably the only set I will ever be able to afford (about 102/wheel).
Do I need to get new tires with a wheel purchase? If so, I would guess that my idea will scrapped because no way am I ever going to scrape up more than 500$ between gas money/insurance/etc. My tires have a pretty good amount of tread and are Toyo Proxes TPT
I know i want 17" wheels, but the columns called PCD and ET completely lose me. Do I want 4 x 100, 4 x 114.3, or 5 x 114.3?

what size are your stock wheels?
if you are going bigger you will need new tires.

oh darn, well mine are the sport rims, 9 spoke i think which are 16 inches. I guess I will have to wait a while.

You want none of those bolt patterns... all audis with the exception of the TT use 5x112.

And yes, shock may overwhelm you, but you need 17" tires for 17" wheels. :D

Yeah, tires aren't cheap either. My tires cost me more than my wheels.

You want 5x112 and ET +35. And 17in tires for 17in wheels. When you're buying tires, their sizes are denoted in this format: section width/sidewall height as a percentage of the width-diameter in inches. For example, my tires are 225/45-17, meaning they are 225mm wide, the sidewall is 45% of 225, 101.25mm, and they are 17" from the inside edge to the other.

So yeah, don't try and stretch your tires over wheels that are wider and taller than your current ones. The shop will be mean to you if you ask them to try.
