So here is my story:

since it was a long weekend my relatives decided to come to toronto to spend some time, however my cousin forgot to bring his cell phone charger. CELL PHONE CHARGER? WHAT DOES THAT HAVE TO DO WITH WATER FROM THE EXHAUST? your asking yourself right now. Well he decided, while I was away at work, to turn on my 99 2.8 Q and let his phone recharge while my car is running. IDLING (or however you spell it). He let it IDLE FOR 4 HOURS!!!!!!!![:@]. so that his battery on his very very important ******* cell phone coudl charge. (sorry for swearing)

Anyway, when I came home i noticed the car was on and water was comming out the exhaust. Is this something I should be concerned about?

Before my exhaust was making a rattling sound and had some minor visible and noticeable vibration, i know i need to replace it, but how bad did he mess up my car.

Thank gusy..just needed to vent and get your opinion.

 

Just condensation, unless there is a shitload of white smoke coming out and you run water instead of coolant

 

good amout of smoke, intially when i start the car...after it disapates and while i am driving i notice some comming out...not like a cloud when driving..only on start up and then goes away and just get regular exhaust fumes...

 

i would make your cousin pay for anything you have to fix for sure...i woulda bitch-slapped him, hard, for that one.

 

you do a lot of short trips?

 

brrman, i've seen that question asked before..and i do ALOT of short trips. my work is about 5 minutes from my house, as is my school. is this bad for my baby??

 

I do do alot of short trips. My work is like 15 KMS away ~ 8 miles. So like maybe 20 Miles a day. Why brrman?

 

hell I'd be making your cousin pay for the gas that the car burnt for the 4 hours of idling

 

cause if you don't let the car warm up it when you do all your short drives this will cause a lot of condinsation but 20 miles a day is fine the car will definetly be warn by this time

 

CLC after he saw me turn red like this ---->[:@] , then he offered to pay for the gas...What he didnt know was that i put 91 octane in and thats like 95 cents a litre now..
