Hello again,

thanks for all the help in advance. So my wife calls me and tell me she cannot get the car started (2003 audi a4 3.0L 6 speed quattro 90K miles)

So I drive there, try to start the car... the key turned all the way around the ignition... 360 degrees....instead getting in proper position to start the car.... so I took the key out... used my spare key and car started... so i take out my spare key and tried the original key that was not working and it works as well... ?????

What is going on?

Anyone heard anything of this short happening? I did a search for "key" and ignition switch and did not find anything similar...

thats just weird id bring it in you have a faulty ingition but thats wierd

 

Souds like something is wrong with the ignition swithc tumblers.

 

Just to validate the issue, I'm reporting the problem too as this problem has happened to me a couple of times now too. I don't know what I did exactly to get it working again. I turned it a few times, took the key out, then reinserted it and it just started working again, but it is very unsettling... I'd like to know exactly how to fix this...
