i own a 2002 a4 with a 2.5L TDI V6 engine quattro..

i`m having bad problems recently. the car simply doesn`t run . it has a terrible slow boost.. in every gear ( manual tran ).
I tought that I put a bad fuel ( diesel ) and the fuel filter was messed up so I replaced it and now it`s running better in 1-2-3rd gears but I recently been on highway and 4-5-6 gears were messed up now. couldn`t get over 70-80mph simply couldn`t. I keep the acc pedal to the bottom but simply nothing happends, it boost extremly slow until 2500 - 2900 rpm .. and that`s it, it doesn`t die or anything like that simply doesn`t go faster. There is no strange engine sound at all.. the transimssion seems to have no problem, the clutch it`s almost new, recently replaced...

Could it be the injectors > Should I clean them and give it a try ? I`m thinking to them because it was a difference after the fuel filter was replaced ( a difference in 1-2-3 gears ) so it should be from the fuel... i think.

Anyway, my truck had that kind of a problem (powerstroke turbo diesel) and it was something to do with the injectors indirectly... I think it was a computer problem. I chased it for a while cleaning injectors and all but in the end I took it to the dealer and he said something about the computer and replace the chip; that was a good reason to buy an upgraded chip. I suck with electronics so I can't even start to explain what he said. So I think looking at the injectors is heading in the right direction. Getting a bad fuel sucks. I run a second fuel filter and a water clean out to try to minimize damage.

 

well I don`t know in gallons but my car with a 2500 cmc engine v6 tdi goes somewhere at 8 Litres / 100 km

I`ll check out within nxt few days. I must get it to a local service to run a computer diagnosis.... btw how much would such a test cost within US ? Here`s about 100 euro / $125

 

I think it was forty dollars to test it. But it was a ford. I usually pay about 85-100 for the dealership to diagnose my A6.

My uncles 05' OPEL VECTRA diesel gets 5 lires/100km not too shabby [8D]

 

I`m sure it does but I`m also betting he isn`t running a 2500 cmc eng , a quattro, with a stock 180HP ; it gets 5 / 100 km with a 1.7 or 2.0 DTI engine 101 hp
