Castrol 5w-40 full synthetic

 

another shout out to castrol syntec 5w-40

 

My next one will be amsoil with large filter. Before myself my A4 was service exclusivly at my local Audi dealership(carfax report states each oil change) I've been taking it to tires plus(last three changes) and getting their full synth change. But I don't know what brand oil they use, but its most likely not the best[&o].

Mobil 1 0-40

I use it becuase it's one of the recomended ones in the manuel. I would like to switch to Royal Purple sometime in the future. MAybe after I get a BT.

 

Mobil 1 0-40 here too. I did my own oil change last weekend and used the larger filter... shop I was taking it to was using the small filters.[:'(]

I might try Amsoil sometime to see if it really does make a difference, as some people are claiming.

my mechanic's father is a chemist and did a sh*tload of tests in the 90s on the additives and whatnot in a handful of different oil brands. his work was published and he found that mobil 1 synthetic blew the others away. i've got a great mechanic and he knows his sh*t so I believe him. that's all I use. I believe Audi recommends the mobil 1 synthetic as well...correct me if I'm wrong, but that's what I've heard...
