If it's just a chip then Revo but if you need tuning for the GTRS then custom. As far as your exhaust get custom if you go bt with a nice Borla, Miltek muffler. (there are many brands just dont feel like listing them all)

 

If you just want to start out "cheap" and start wtih a chip and exhuast, I would actually go for APR Stg1+. If will put you at 235ish hp w/275tq. Revo will only get you 205 hp with 240tq. If you got an exhaust and test pipe youd probably be close to 250hp and more tq which is respectable.

 

How come Revo gives a smaller power upgrade than APR? Cause I've heard many people claim that even though APR claims more HP, yet Revo seems to pull harder and longer and is overall a better chip for the B6. Is it because its stage 1+ or whatever? and not just the basic APR chip?

 

Ya if youre going with a regular chip that doesnt require bigger injectors etc. I dont know if Revo offers a big injector chip like apr stg1+ or GIAC FX. I havent heard of anyone using a Revobig injector file w/stock turbo .

Go with APR on the B6 for sure. Stage 1+ and the EFIs will run you $999- plus whatever the shop charges you for labor. It's a very nice mod for the money, and a good place to start building the engine up from with the EFIs. If you want to go to a K04 at this point you should do an exhaust, and FMIC, a K04 you can get for $$900 shipped with the gaskets and bolts to install and then another $199 to APR for the K04 upgrade for your old flash.

In case your wondering why i didn't do the exhaust or intercooler yet, my K03 died due to what i believe was low oil in the engine so i went with the K04 rather then a new K03 only to replace it very shortly after with the K04.

 

I gotta say, i'm lovin the ideas here. only 1 turbo to have to upgrade and less money....I really hope that the turbo in this car isn't easy to blow...i'm used to havin the 2 k03's from the S4...and I was constantly worried even though I took great care of the car. I should get the car by next weekend...03 1.8 sport with 49k miles for $12k...black on black, 5% tint all around...so i'm thinkin, rear deck lid...maybe a rear window spoiler (the subtle one), blacked out grill, some black 'n chrome deep dish rims, exhaust and chip. think that would be good? I'm seein lots of Borla and MTM exhaust stuff...I think i'd go with the APR chip...Borla vs. MTM...not sure, but I think mtm is pricey...
