Well..what can I do. Turbo is "contaminated" with oil and intercooler has oil in it. I'm spewing white smoke when my RPM's go low. Looks like the turbo is about ready to go. Anybody know if it would just be easier going ko4? I'm already commited to getting a new turbo and doing some intercooler work...why not?

 

The labor will be the same K04 will just be more $ you might as well if you have to tear it down anyway.

 

What else would I need for the ko4? Except the turbo + fmic? I'm chipped...do I need to get a new program?

 

If your committed do a new turbo which you obviusly need anyway, might as well spend a few extra bucks and get some power out of the engine, thougth you will need some suporting mods so you dont keep breaking more turbos, search k04 and see what ppl get for there setups, or copy someone sig. you are deff looking at chip exhast turbo injectors etc.

 

if you can spare your car for a few days - go to g-popshop.com they will rebuild your stock k03 into a k04 spec turbo for $425 +$25 s/h. you will also need k04 programing from GIAC(if you have a B5) $600 for k04 software or b6's have other options. as for the SMIC - take it out and buy a FMIC off of ebay and do the $150 DIY.
