i run amsoil 5w-40 with mann filter

 

castrol sytec, 10w 40

 

Mobil 1 0W-40 w/ K + N Filter, Expensive combo!

 

i read and artical on syth oils.... Mobil one is one of the dirties, my family and i are sponsered drag racers locally and we talk to all the dragsters and they dont run anything else but valvoline in syth...

I have used Valvoline 5w40 and it was a really good oil, engine sounded happy, right now I am using Mobil1 0w40 (always used Mobil in my past vehicles) and it runs really good. I have noticed the engine makes lighter noises with the Mobil, it is hard to explain... Like a light valve system tapping almost, I think the oil might almost be too thin. Right now I am going to swtich to Castrol 5w40 and see how my engine likes that and then go to Shell 5w40 and see how my engine likes that... I always use MANN filters...

I live in Central California near Modesto (if you wanna' see the weather) my engine hits 225 and 250 fairly regularly... In the summer it hits 250 every day for long periods of time...

My engine is the 2.8 30v and totally stock...

I use Mobile 1 syn 0-40 and have no problems. I do know however that if you dont use a synthetic that you will have major problems with your car. (sludge and oil lines getting clogged which will cost you around $400 parts cost to repair)

 

After looking at the specs for Red Line I just might have to give that a test as well..
