I have been looking at different dyno graphs for all sorts of tubo upgrades and what not.. one things seems to stay constant, for some reson the 98 a4 1.8t has about 20hp more then the 99 1.8t.. and even more so convincing my good friends stock 98 a4 feels chiped even though we know its not, and it has over 130k miles on it.. any reason for this?

 

How can you be so positive your friends car isnt chipped? Does he have a boost gauge?

 

we took apart the ECU.. No chip

 

doesnt need to be chipped there are ecu flashes. theres all diff ways to recode electronics using rays and each type of device that is installed is sensitive to a diff kinda of means of transporting information to it

 

its a 98 almost positive you cnt flash those ecu's but at any rate its not chipped we tested the boost..

 

Why would the 98 have 20 more HP then the 99? If anything Audi would have kept that change for the following year's line. HP always goes up not down.

 

well ill try and find the links but what I saw with the Pes turbo kit, on a 98 it was 20hp more on the dyno then the 99, and another site i saw showed that the 98 was about faster in the 1/4 mile time by a bit and the 0-60

 

i figured it out, the numbers i looked at where comparing a 98 that was FWD againest a 99 that was quattro..
