I know this is a shady question as it differs from car to car with tire setup and so on but again what will it take to make a 1.8t a4 run in the 13's?-a manual that is.

So far i'm looking into:

K04 with matched chip tuning
clutch and flywheel
Intake
borla exhaust with downpipe
Fuel pressur regulator
Light weight underdrive pulley

What else should i be reasearching and looking into purchasing?

 

With all that you should be looking at 280 to 290 hp. You should be running 13's easily on a good day.

 

280 to 290 it way to optimistical. Think maybe about 240-250. If you really want to improve times check out the General Tech forum and do my DIY Shortend clutch pedal throw and buy a short shifter. this will drop your times dramatically. COnsider also losing your catalytic converter.

realistically expect to run 14.2-14.5 with your list of modifications.

 

do tyou just put in a straight pipe in place of where the cat goes? won't you need a stand alone fuel management if you take out the cat

 

If you wanna get into the 13s wit that setup you could add nitrous but dont expect your car to last too long...

Or you could look at APRs stage three kit... that might get you there.

Alot of the down pipes come with a pipe that you can use to replace you cat... you will get a cel though tellin you that your cat it ****... I heard of people getting around this by using spark plug spacers to get the second O2 sensor out of the direct exhaust flow making it think theres still a cat.

David_k, Is 240 or 250 all you can get with a chiped ko4? I thought the unchipped ko4 alone would put out aprrox 230hp and with a chip and all the other mods it would be a little more then 240hp, my bad.

 

Thats cool that does sound about right for 14's. I'll look into your clutch pedal mod, thanks for the help on that one. So basically go ahead and loose the catalyic converter which isn't a problem since there are no emissions testing in KY. Will i need seperate tuning aside from an ordered chip if i do take out my cat?

Also are there any other options to get me into the 13's aside from a bigger turbo and i'd like to stay away from the juice bc in my opinion bottles are for babies.

 

Well giac is in the progress of making a chip for the k04 with 310cc injectors and a FMIC, you would also need an adjustable FPR. Supposedly they don't sell it but people have it i think mmart4565 or whatever his name is on audiworld had this same setup and broke into the 13 second range. This setup is for sale on ebay if your interested k04 310cc FMIC. Here is a link for 1/4 mile time with there list of mods caps times hope this helps.
