Wheel bearing took out abs sensor
Well the day i get a replacment bearing for my a4 the little bugger takes out my abs speed sensor, anyone know to take it off and replace it. i have 1996 a4 quattro.right know its in the shop and hopefully tomorrow itll turn out it just a code that needs clearing. also the abs light and parking brake light are on is this normal under these circumstances. the car drives fine with the exception of the bearing but im worried the car may wind up with some other problems. my parents are mad that ive already spent about $500 trying to get the car into pristine condition. after the bearing all i have to do is the abs sensor, cats, and i plan on eventually rebuilding the climate control LCD and a good buff and polish.
ABS and Brake light at the same time usually means your ABS module is dead. Its a notorious failure. Verify that your ABS doesnt work first before replaceing/rebuilding the module. Or, ignore it and just know that you wont have ABS functionality. Its not unsafe to drive with a bad ABS module, you just have to be prepared to manually pump your brakes if need be to keep from locking up.
