Where did you guys ground your amps????

just curious where people grounded their amps... I have a FAT ground loop going and i have 2 eliminators plugged in and it still humms a little bit, so i think its my ground. so curious where people grounded thiers and what kind of screw/bolt they used.

P.S. YES it's already on bare metal ;)

you want to keep the power cables as far away from the RCAs as possible, could that possibly be your problem?

what are the actual symptoms of your problem. Depending on the type of noise you are getting there can be several different cures for it. But to answer the orignal question my amp is grounded to scraped metal under my back seat using a star washer and an EXTREMELY short self tapping screw

I attached mine the same way but it keeps pulling out for some reason.... hum. I'm going to be putting MB Quartz components into the front doors w/in a month or so so I'll check the routing when i do that...... it'll be a fun filled stereo day :)

You don't need the ground loop isolators.

I have my ground attached to one of the bolts in my trunk. I believe its the same one on the writeups on AW.

I have my ground attachd to the frame where the seatbelt harness screws into underneath the back seat. I get a little buzzing coming through my speakers and thought about getting one of those ground loop isolators... why do you say don't get one north?

it should be to the chassis with the least wire required as it causes heat build up and distorts signals

I went to 2 different car audio places to get advice on my setup and both said that unless I have some serious amperage or are running RCA cables along with your ground to the trunk, you shouldn't have a problem (ie. bundle the RCAs and ground together).

I used one of the bolts in my trunk that would secure a cargo net. I had some buzzing prior to using that bolt, once I used that bolt it cleared up. I think you have a grounding issue.

ground loop isolators will never compelty kill the noise you are getting they are only going to maybe attenuate you best bet is just to try a new ground

mine is attached to the bolt holding down the cargo net ring thingy closest to the passenger seat on the driver side.
