Where does ABS sensor cable dissapear to???
1996 1.8T. I need to replace the ABS wheel sensor cable. It dissapears into the bulhead (offside) under the wheel arch, but where does it go to please? Also can anyone confirm what type of connection it should have on this model? And whether I can buy one that fits other models when I surf the net for a replacement?
Thanks to all who reply,

Hi Dave, I damaged the sensor head trying to remove it when I replaced thewheel bearing.Do you know if both offside and nearside cables are the same lengths, or are they handed?
now what your looking for is a fix

the connection for the cable is under the hood but you need to follow it by hand from the wheel
im not into fixing abs even though I know how to its too complicated to explain on the net

I can see the cable entering the inner wheel arch as though its going to the instrument pod area but in the UK spec the only place above is where the ECU is located? Where does the end of the cable go? what is it attached to?
That rubber grommet pulls out if i know where you are talking about. BTW, i thought i ruined mine when i had to pound it out doing my bearing but it turns out i just didnt put it back in far enough. Anyway if u pull that rubber thing out you will reveal the connector there.
