When I took off for work this morning I noticed that a whistling noise when I accelerate comes into play. I was driving my car fine last night with no noises or anything... I popped my hood and had someone press on the gas while it was in park but you cannot hear anything from the engine bay and everything seems to be fine... you can only hear the "whistle" noise if you are sitting in the car and it sounds like it's coming from under the dash area on the passanger side of the car... anyone have this problem before any suggestions on what I should do? No check engine lights or anything, it's a 97 A4 1.8T Quattro... Thanks guys!

Thats the turbo sound. When you accelerate, it sucks a lot of air into your piston cylinders to give you max power. Dont worry about it. I kiinda like that sound. Feels like a jet.

just wondering, do you hear that sound just about 2800 rpm? if so then its more likely your turbo

 

It's probably your flux capacitor leaking ions. You should get that fixed pretty soon, or else there will be distortion in your spool.
