Whoa, they barely fit! (pics added!)
I had posted a craigslist listing for some 18s about a month ago asking for everyones opinion, for the most part everyone liked them. Well I just got around to picking them up yesterday. I got all 4, with tires for $320! Not too bad of a deal. A couple of the wheels the painting was chipping off a little bit, but it should be too big of a problem. He had told me that 2 of the tires were not drivable and needed to be replaced. He must just be really picky because all 4 looked just fine to me and were better than my 2 front ones I had on there!
Anyway, I put them on my car and MAN the back wheels just BARELY clear! There is like maybe 1/4" between the tire and the upper control arm! I mean, I heard people talking about putting 19s on there A4 and I am thinking no way! How would you fit anything bigger?[sm=insomnia.gif]
I will have some pics in a little bit.
And ok, yes, I still have my stock suspension, and yes it does look like a jeep or a 4x4 or whatever, but this is just temporary! So no need to rip on the ride height or wheel gap, OK!? [&:]
They look really good otherwise. Pics in a bit for your opinions.

bigger wheel just means less rubber - 19's would fix the exact same as your 18's. They just have a little less rubber. Ever heard the saying "rollin on blades" - yeah dam near zero rubber.
If your worried that something is wrong verify you have the correct tire mounted on the wheel so in corilation to your original tire size

I am not worried, they don't seem to rub at all. The wheels are just a lot wider and a lot bigger than stock. There is clearance just not a much! And according to that site my speedometer is going to be off by like 2 mph. No biggie.
But I do like them a lot, becouse they still have a fairly quiet and smooth ride.

sounds good - thats not that much when your talkin 60mph - just keep this in mind for when you buy tires next time to get something a little bit closer to original circumference . When I changed from 15's to 17's my difference was only .75mph at 65.
