i dotn thin its me but i will ask a question. when ur shifting do u let the cluch out fast even though it jerks the car. I mean i dont see where u can mess up? though any tips on shifting will be greatly appreciated. if its not my shifting lets say what else could it be mechanically?

yes its called syncromesh you have to match the revs of your engine to your tranny... and no I dont hear your dad... The reason why your not pulling 7's is because of the driver and you lost horse power over the years

learn where the clutch catches and memorize where thats at. let out the clutch almost to that point and rev it around 3k then let out the clutch as you stomp down on the gas. do not just dump the clutch or your stock one will go in no time

Slightly off topic but I have seen ppl shift without using the clutch. Its like they know exactly when to shift without grinding the tranny.

grandfather told me he used to be able to do that on some of his old cars (like 30's and 40's chevy's and ford's). i always thought he was lying. i know you dont need the clutch to take it out of gear. when it gets to low enough rpm it will just pull out.
