ok ill make it short..

sometimes when im in neutral and I rev it up, the RPM's will climb quick and drop quick andI have good throttle response and you can hear my intake the instant I hit the throttle.

other times Ill rev in neutral and it will take a second before the RPM's even move and than they will drop slowly (slower), almost like a delayed reaction, and when this happens my intake wont make that sudden "sucking" noise

flywheel?? throw out bearing?? is it even clutch related?? Maybe my electronic throttle control?? I have no clue, its a bit peppier as well when it revs quickly.

It almost seems like it revs quick when the car is cool, or lets just say within the first 10-20 minutes of driving, but when i been drivin for a bit it seems to rev slower and slower.

Hey man, I have the same problem. I have a custom intake and I think it's because after driving for a while the engine bay gets very hot and your intake sucks in hotter air therefore you loose performance cause your suckin in much hotter air.. That's my intelligent guess, but it's the only thing that makes sense to me..

I will post some pictures of what I did with my old airbox, basically cut it up and madea custom heat shield with the snorkel still working to get some colder air to the custom intake. Haven't driven with it on yet cause it's in the shop right now, but I will get some picturs on here right away.. I'm sure it'll ,but how much help I don't know..

Looks like you have a 2001 model like I do and these car have that Electronic trottle. Maybe it's an issue with that?

I dont notice that much of a difference, I use to own an 1997 A4 and they both had pretty close throtle responce. The 2001 does lag a bit more though.

Drive by wire.....

The rev problem sounds like a throttle body sticking intermittently to me.
