Ok quick question... Will a GIAC chip work on a Auto tranny if the chip is for a 5spd?... Somebody is selling a chip for a good price but they have a 5spd and I have the TIP tranny?

 

i think you need to contact giac and have then reflash the chip for a tip, i dont think it costs too much to do that

 

will it be an issue if im not the original owner of the chip?

 

i've heard of people getting it done, i think it will work in your car just not to full potential...they have different settings and stuff

You dont have to contact giac.. you can recode it yourself with vag... I did it with mine and it works like a champ

i think I might get out to fuzion this wed night.. But if I dont then its not a prob.. seriously youll be amazed on how easy it is to recode from 5spd to Tip.. I can do it in less than 5 mins.. PM me whenever you want to do it

 

The TIP in 2001 was a 5-speed. Was this changed in 2002?
Do you have a CVT?
