Default window problems

My driver side window is acting weird ever since i got my a4. I don't even want to open it cause of this, well, when i open the window and try to close it back, it just goes half way and automatically stop and go back down...until i keep on doing this 20+ times then it works.....i was just wondering what is causing this? and how can i fix it?

sounds like you need a new switch. you can install it yourself, and the part number should be stamped on your current switch...removing the door panel is pretty simple, it's just a few phillips-head screws

Check to see if it is running in the track smoothly up and down
and all the bolts and riverts are in place,
Tap the switch while u putting it up and the motor
there could be an internal short cozing it to reopen the window
you can test that with a Sonic Tester if you have one ...
Hope this helps
