Default window tints

what do u think...in illinois you cant tint the front two windows...
and i dont want another reason for cops to pull me over so i would just tint teh back 5 windows...not too dark
would it look alright or would it be pointless to just get those and not all the windows???

i have the same problem in jersey. I opt to not tint at all. if i tint anything it will be the rear windshield and thats it. I have seen cars (audis) with just the back 5 tinted and it looks busted and uneven! I hate that law and I hate whoever came up with it. you can however sometimes get away with lighter tints in the front and when cops see them compared to the dark in the back they may not notice. but that too looks pretty bad.

Just roll down your windows when you see the cops

hey bud! we tint and if you get the 35% you won't get stopped ...

i have the 35% all around and i've never gotten an ticket for it. it's not that dark but gives the car a nice look. also it keeps it cooler inside the car. i think the reason i don't get stopped is that it almost looks like it could be from the factory.

Just tint it, the cops won't bother you, unless they are real douches. And don't just do the rear window it'll just look tacky. All tint is illegal in NY and I have 20% with no problems from the cops.

Limo tint the whole car! Im in NY and like he said , its all illegal. But if you get gay light tints liek 35% , its very see through. So what would be the point in spendind so much money on sometime barely there. Ether way , when you get pulled over , your going to get the ticket whether its 35 or 5-limo . So if your going to go , go all the way . Limo looks really nice.

Tinting only the back 5 looks VERRY bad , do not do that.

I also do what samson says. Whenever you see a cop just roll down your window. If he pulls you over , keep your windows down , they usually dont notice.

I have a question kinda off topic but is there a tint that like a polarized one so I can go 20% and still see somewhat clearly at night with out having to roll the windows down?

JP,

If it were me, I would either tint the whole car or nothing at all.... I would recommend getting 35 to 20%. If you do get pulled over, especially at night, turn on your cabin lights and roll down all your windows (weather permitting). That way the officer can see inside your car and he won't be as threatened when approaching your car.

Good luck with your decision.

yeah the auto down windows come in handy. if the radar detector goes off just hit all four buttons to be safe. it might suck in the winter but hey so does getting a "fix it ticket"

Be careful - some states issue fix-it tickets (CA, OH, IN...) and will make you take the tint off - and bring proof to court when you have to show up to pay the ticket. Would suck to have it put on just to have to remove it soon after.
