Alright guys, have you seen these Carbon Fiber lip spoilers on EGAY. They seem extremely cheap. What do you think? Did anyone give into the cost and pick this thing up?

Are you going to keep it carbon fiber?

I bought mine from Pure Motorsports, fits like a dream and it was ready to paint out of the box. I am always skeptical of ebay stuff especially if its going onto my car. The one I bought from Pure MS was only $80 I think. With that ebay one you are paying $25 in shipping.

 

I'm also getting one of those, they don't look that cheap and tacky but I'll check out pure MS and then make my final decision.

i was just on MS and it seems bigger than the carbon one on ebay
i want it to be as subtle as possible, barely noticeable (im not into funky spoilers)
for 40 bucks, you can't go wrong..worst case scenario and you dont like it, you put it back on ebay...

^^^really? I really don't care if its carbon fiber or not because I'm gonna paint it silver anyways but I didn't know that...and if so, does it really matter, will it be durable regardless?

 

I noticed that as well with a second glance. As I mentioned, one gets what they pay for so I think I'll explore my options.

 

yeah the abs rubber will be durable. i am 99% sure even the ebay ones that claim to be carbon fiber really are just rubber with a design on it for a few reasons:

-sandman's DIY showed that his came with just a design on it.
-its way too cheap to be real CF
-it says "You are Bidding on One of M3 STYLE CARBON FIBER TRUNK LIP SPOILER WINGS. Rubber Spoiler is Made by Flexible Material that is Perfect and Smooth Surface will Easy to Fit any Trunk Curve. Upgrade your Performance & Style."


i got one that never claimed to be CF, it was rubber all along...and its fine. You do have to bend it a pretty decent amount though, and im noticing on the very rip of mine on the right side it is starting to pull back a bit on the tape because of the stress that the bend puts on it. It is still intact very solidly and is not going anywhere...but a little water gets under that top when i wash the car so in the future i may have to re adhere that corner

 

alot of people are running the cheap ebay lips.. and like silver said.. those cheap ones are not real carbon fiber..

there is a seller on ebay that sells true carbon fiber lip spoilers on ebay for Audis .. for around $90 i think.. just look around
