your opinion on body kits
what is your opinion on fiberglass over plastic body kits?

RE: your opinion on body kits
What the fuck?
I don't think you should be asking for opinions, I think you should be asking for viable justifications. |
RE: your opinion on body kits
umm... NEVER EVER get fiberglass! So easy to crack/break/get torn and/or ripped off your car:D
abs plastic is good, though i would get urathane, more spendy but totally worth it. |
RE: your opinion on body kits
Carbon Fiber! [8D]
|
RE: your opinion on body kits
carbon fiber...that would be about the same as fiberglass though right. im guessin a little tougher. but about the same
|
RE: your opinion on body kits
eurathane or plasticfor front and rear bumper, but I found a set of sideskirts that I really like that are made of fiberglass (i may get them anyways( I mean how often does your sideskirt get hit?
I would never get any other rear bumper for my car other than the S4 rear, and the only two fronts I would ever go for are the S4 and the RS4 and never in fiberglass.... gl! |
RE: your opinion on body kits
Carbon fiber is strong and lightweight.
That's why they're so expensive. |
RE: your opinion on body kits
carbon fiber in the right application is stronger then steel, the only way its the same is because its made with matt and resin
as far as body kits go... dont get a body kit |
RE: your opinion on body kits
Ever been driving and see some ricer with an unpainted, carcked and chipped body kit? Even with paint, that's what happens to fiberglass.
|
RE: your opinion on body kits
body kits are weak
|
RE: your opinion on body kits
first of all if you get a body get you better make sure it looks damn good and is painted the right color. it it looks like aricy civic... well i dunno but whateverpoint is it wouldnt begood.if you have the money go with the CF but if not plastic works... yeah fiberglass sucks.

RE: your opinion on body kits
oh and my friend says putting a body kit on an audi can be like blowing up and orphanage if youre not careful.... so ummm... be careful?
|
RE: your opinion on body kits
Is it just me or do you guys think that Euro cars look good just by having it lowered and bigger wheels. :D
|
RE: your opinion on body kits
I've seen some sick looking Audi's with body kits, it just has to be done right. Don't go for fiberglass, and to those who say don't get a body kit at all, we respect you like your car to look stock, but there are some of us who don't want a stock look...

RE: your opinion on body kits
I have the RS4-Plus body kit slammed with 18x8 wheels. Go ABS, but expect to pay 4 grand. You want the material to flex and give a little for soft impacts. I hit a couple curbs and it’s been fine. My other friend with a VW has a slightly more aggressive fiberglass kit at stock height/stock wheels and his kit is already cracked. |
RE: your opinion on body kits
Now when I say 4 grand I’m talking out the door. Parts paint and install. |
RE: your opinion on body kits
Go urathane, I went through a POS plastic, it was just a lip kit but it cracked so easy, I just bought a urathane lip kit its really flexible and nice, a little pricey but its well worth it, I KNOW :(

RE: your opinion on body kits
I went with audi17's and the s4 bumper(painted Correctly) which changed the whole look of the car.
I myself am not crazy about body kits on european cars. (Especially AUDI) There is a certain SMOOTHNESS to them and they are way ahead of the game. That's why a B5 still looks so good to this day. IMO the Audi starts to lose some of it's physical appeal and looks like your typical rice burner if too much is done. |
