Looking to buy a new A5 Cab. Does anyone know about when the 2015 model will be available in the US?

I'd be interested in knowing as well. I'm really confused with articles like this one that says that the totally redesigned 2016 will be out beginning of 2015.

From the article:

"2016 Audi A5 Rendered Release Date - 2016 Audi A5 will debut at the end of this year béforé arriving on showroom floors in early 2015. Prices will likely inch up from the current $ 39,895 car , a competitor of the BMW 4 -sériés , Cadillac ATS coupe , RC Lexus , Mercedes – Benz C – class coupe ."

The 2015 is not even out yet and is the 2015 coming out in just 7-8 months? Can anyone clear this up?

I searched Car and Driver and came up with this article. It says:

Estimated Arrival and Price: The 2016 Audi A5 will debut toward the end of this year before arriving on showroom floors at the beginning of 2015.

That's the same thing I read on other sites. So, is there going to be a 2015 A5 within the next month or two, and then a 2016 A5 in about January 2015? I don't know anything about Audi, other than my wife saying she wants an A5, so I don't know if this timing is normal. Can someone enlighten me?

And as_emily, what did you mean by "this will help your friends"? What friends?

 

Audi used to be notorious for facelifts mid model year, thus the 99.5 A4 and 2005.5 A4. Although, the 2005.5 wasn't just a facelift, it was the transition from B6 to B7.

I doubt a true 2016 model will not be available for sale until fall next year, but it is possible we could get a preview in early 2015 (January/February) labeled as a 2015.5.

What I don't understand it, however, they just refreshed the B8 model (B8.5) last year (MY2013), so it seems a little too soon for a whole new design. Not that I'm complaining, though. The sooner the new model line up comes out, the sooner the prices on the 2010-2012 S5 drop significantly... and that V8 beauty is my next car

 

So, I decided to go check out the C&D article myself... and learned they're dropping the 4.0T into the new RS5.
