Audi A5 2l tdi clutch judder
#2
Hi Michelle
We have a 2013 A5 2L Diesel Sportsback which is suffering from the same issue, there is a judder when pulling away in 1st gear, the car was delivered to Audi (Cambeley) on the 2nd Jan, on the 3rd they phoned and said the it needs a new clutch but also aFlywheel kitt, I went to Audi today 4th and collected the Clutch and Flywheel to take to another mechanic to get a second oppion, and he said the clutch is fine but the problem can be Flywheel alone, the car has only done about 37,000 miles so we are no going to have a argument with Audi about replcing the Flywheel under warranty. I have the Clutch and Flywheel in my car and wont get it back untill a new flywheel has been agreed.
If you read other forums lots of people have had Clutch judder and have had Clutch and Flywheel replaced but the problem hasn't been fixed, somesay it maybe casued by oil temperature (not sure about that).
We started off at £2800 for new Clutch and Flywheel but have argued and got it down to £2000 but looking to push for all under warranty as we are blaming a faulty Flywheel which has affected the clutch. We even spoke with a clutch specialist in Aldershot they even said it would be the Flywheel.
Audi, think that the owner wont investigate and assume that Audi are correct so we just have to pay their pricing.
If we get this issue done under warranty but still have Clutch Judder after swapping out the Flywheel we will take the car to our mechanic friend to do the clutch, Audi Clutch kit is about £200, Flywheel kit is about £800 with about 8 hours labour to remove the gearbox.
Keep checking and posting on here so I get a reminder to post updates
