Default AUdio and MMI

Not a big deal but whenever I put the key in to check oil level (MMI) or move wipers to the Maintenance position, the audio (radio, sat, or whatever was on last) comes on. I then have to mute it (touch on/off **** w/out holding it) or go ahead and listen to whatever is on. Is there a way to keep the audio off (I always turn everything off when I shut the car down) and still check the MMI?

This happens either while starting the car or just in the auxiliary position (car on but engine not started).

Not sure I understand what you are telling me to check.

To answer your question: NO

Unless you can reprogram the MMI it will come on as a 'convenience' to you, whether the key is in w/ alternator mode on with engine on it will always resume where you left it. You can even turn it on without the key( a retrospective look to the old AUDIS and German cars), but at least it will shut off on a timer or you can put the key in an remove it to shut off the radio. Not like my old A8, where if you turn the radio on w/o the key in ignition, it will stay on. And ruin your battery too.

Its not that convenient, but it does save your battery. They should install an on/off switch.
