Default Can the MMI 3G be updated without having to go to the stealership?

I have a 2011 A5 2.0 TFSI with the MMI 3G, software version being “HNav_US_P0114_D1” and the Nav. Database being “8R0060884P NAR 5.4.7.”

I am aware that there is an update, but I currently don’t know what the max version is, and how to get it. I do live in the US, I have the Bang and Ofulsen audio system. (if that helps) I do not have a VAG cable.

Is there any way to update it without spending tons of money at the dealership?

Thanks,
Daniel.

I’m in the same boat with an older q5. Did anyone answer your question?
