S tronic gearbox fault

I have an intermittent gearbox fault, error code 8040-p17d8 ( torque limitation due to clutch temp) I am told there is an Audi technical serivce bulletin out ( tsb number 2022497/18) I can't get my hands on the tsb but I am told its a fault with circuit bord on the mechatronic unit. Please could any help me out with this problem or give me any further information/advice ?

Guys I sold my A5 and bought an A7 due to increasing family.
I have a 2012 and this issue has sprung up on my car after a gear box service. Garage said box is fine and it due to car being mapped.
Car has been mapped for past 5 months no issues.

Can anyone help as feels like a fob off.

When was the last time you had the ATF changed?

As the oil gets older and contaminated, its ability to dissipate heat is decreased. The ATF computer will monitor the temp to prevent heat-related damage.

What kind of service did your mechanic perform? Did he use a VAG-COM/VCDS to check the fluid level per manufacturer's instructions?

if the ATF was changed and the fluid is too high or too low, you may also run into heat-related and shifting problems. Too little fluid means there is not enough to dissipate heat. Too much fluid causes oil foaming which also prevents heat from being dissipated properly.

It has just been done by a VW/Audi dealership at 50500miles. I had done about 2500miles in car and no issues since i bought it until it was serviced.
They have checked the levels again and all was ok. Box up yo temp and oil dripped out.
This is very intermittent and has done it about 5 or 6 x since service but never before it.
10-15miles after service it started and they confirmed but said its the map thats causing it even though map has been on car for about 6 months. (Get out claus) i has happened when car was cold and 30mph driving out of village and i've blasted car to see if it matters and nothing some days and a message others.
It stays up for about a second or 2 goes away and car drive normal. When message up power drops for those few secs.

Have you tried a DSG reset? aka "Basic Settings"?

Here are the instructions for VCDS:

http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index...arbox_(DSG/0AM)

However, I still think it's a fluid level issue. Perhaps there is another dealer or trusted mechanic you can take to for another look?
