Default 00 4.2 ABS & Brake Warning Light

today when driving to work, i was blessed with both the abs and brake warning lights on/beeping at the same time. the lights came on out of the blue. the car was not under load or hard braking. after i shut the car off, the lights did clear and did not come back on. but of course, after speaking with my wife, she did mention that it happened randomly the other day as well. before i start going nuts trying to find out what is wrong, any ideas? can this be a common problem?

thanks in advance for anyone's help.

Brake fluid level or air in the line? Just a guess.

If you have the bosch 5.3 ABS system then it is most likely the Brake control modual. If you have a 2001 or newer the computer will store a code for it but if it is older than 2001 it will not have any codes. Modualarmasters.com can fix it for $250, if that is what it is. Sooner or later it will not shut back off.
