Default 02 A6 not so happy after sitting

Ok so I let my A6 set for about six months while I was away and now for some reason the thing is in limp mode with the abs and traction control light on. I am also getting the code p0600 which will not go away with my $100 obdII scanner. I also have a leak of water in the cabin which I assume from reading other threads is from the sunroof or battery compartment drains and will find that today. I know there is another type of scanner for these cars, but what are the decent ones and what are my options for a laptop style and handheld? If anyone can steer me in the right direction please help. I would take it to the Audi dealer, but they charge over $200 just to hook it up to their computer and then an hourly charge for diagnosis.

NO! No taking it to the dealer. Bunch of stupid, thieving, crooks. Call around to a local, independant mechanic, one that specializes in foreign cars. Keep looking, you'll find a good one, word of mouth helps. Ask other drives you cross, who they trust with their Audis. Good luck.

As an extra precaution, next time you go away for more than a few weeks you may want to put some Stabil in your tank to keep gasoline from separating.

Autozone will scan for free.

I stored my A6 in the garage April-Oct and only took it out twice for short rides. I pulled it out last Wednesday for a long trip and after about 100 miles I noticed the ABS light had come on. I bought gas and when I re-started the car, it was gone. I suspect it was due to the brake pads sticking and misleading the ABS sensor. You may want to drive it a bit and find a safe place to perform a couple higher speed hard stops to heat up the pads.
