Default 02 Sport Package 17" tire replacements

I have the 17" 4.2L sport pkg wheels, and the car came with 3 of one brand tire, and the other a different. I am looking to get a set of tires that are matched...I am looking for All season, any suggestions, or just go to tire rack?

I just put some Kumho ASX's on my 4.2 - used to have Kumho's on my Jetta & my truck too. Great tire for the $$$ better than Dunlop's

I am a huge fan of the Pirelli PZeroNero M&S all season tires.

I had the same problem. Bought the car, had one brand on the back, and another on the front. So I replaced the 2 winter rear tires with General Exclaim UHP's to match the fronts. Ride's good, road noise is acceptable, grip fine for everyday spirited driving, but I can't say how'd they'd fair on a track or comment on their longeviety, as I've only had them for a week or so.

I have Pirelli P6 FourSeasons mounted on OEM 17" that have been real good in snow and ice. I currently have 45k on the set and expect to get at least 50k out of them. I rotate them every 5-6k.

I use 18" rims in the summer and tried Coopers one year with lots of problems. Discount Tire admitted their mistake and swapped them for the Continentals which are also OEM tires for Audi. I don't have a lot of miles on these yet and did not drive the car last summer, but the tires have given no problems and wear well.

My personal experience is that the quattro system is a little finicky with tires and going with OEM rubber seems to help avoid problems. Proper inflation and rotation, avoiding pot holes, does not hurt either.
