04 A6- Good deal?
I'm new to the Audi world. Any input would be appreciated.
I found a 2004 A6 sedan quattro v6 3.0. Has an auto tranny with 48k miles. Listed at a dealership for $15k.
Is this a good deal?
What are the common problems with this year & make?

1-Check Kelly Blue Book and offer less.
2-Do a forum search for 3.0 and see what problems pop up.
3-Get all the maintenance records and have an independent mechanic check the vehicle.
In Grand Rapids MI there is a 2003 A6 2.7T auto with 82k miles asking $12.3. Private sale, not a dealer. Doesn't make me feel warm and fuzzy about the value of my '03 with 140k miles.

Last August I paid $18.7K for an Audi certified '04 Avant with 42.5K miles. Price seems pretty fair to me. Mine was a little more but, a low mileage Avant is pretty rare in So. Cal. Factoring in the economic decline, you may be able to negotiate a better deal.

I was able to take it overnight- smelt gas and saw the sticky thread about this common issue. I looked under the car and the bottom of the gas tank was damp/wet with gas. I may pass on this one, and continue my search for another A6
