I just purchased a 96 a6 q wagon w 87K miles. I have had the timing belt/water pump done. I am on a limited budget but would like a little better mileage/performance out of it. any suggestions?

You've got the 12v 2.8 engine. It's a solid engine, but there isn't much you can do to get a lot more performance. Without getting radical, you can add a better intake and exhaust and see some gain, but it won't be a lot.

 

thanks, its a solid car. i'm not looking for a big gain just a bit more.

 

its why they went to a bigger motor this year. as far as i can see Audi lacks in 3 areas. : electronics, suspension (control arms and tie rods) and power. The 05 has power. Now we'll have to go thru the growing pains with a redesign for a couple more years.
