Hello Everyone!!

I'm thinking about buying a 1997 A6 Quattro wagon. It has 165k miles on it, it's an automatic with leather interior, sunroof, roof rack and power doors, windows, locks and has a security system.

I grew up with Audis, my family had an Audi 5000 FWD sedan back in the late 1970s (yes, a long time ago) and then in the 1980s we had an Audi 5000 Quattro Turbo sedan. I personally have never owned an Audi but I have a chance to buy this 1997 A6 Quattro wagon.

From what I can see, it's got a good history for reliability. I just don't want this potential car to nickle and dime me to death. What can you tell me about this model? Does it have any quirks that cost money to fix? Does it have a timing chain or a timing belt? If it's a belt how much to replace it should I need to do that type of work on it? Any info. you can provide will really help me in deciding to purchase this vehicle. Thank you so very much in advance and I look forward to your replies!
