Default 2.7T leaking coolant from rear of passenger oil pan / alternator WITH PICS

Its on the rear of the passenger side oil pan very close to the alternator?

what's in that area that carries coolant that may be leaking?

im on original timing belt and accessories. Car has 75k. Timing belt was planned to be done at 85k.

Let me know what you think. Water pump maybe? AUX coolant pump?

Could be your waterpump leaking down & getting pushed back from air flow. Pull the timing covers & have a look.
The last time i looked at any Audi the alternator was at the front of the engine.

when mine was leaking there it was from the thermostat/thermostat housing. could also be from the waterpump but that is more toward the middle. the aux coolant pump is in the back near the firewall.

in short, my money is on the area of the thermostat

good luck. let us know what it was when it is sorted

The alternator is behind the oil pan. so yes it is in the front?

i have had people from audizine say it is the thermostat. Is this correct? also as long as it is any of the accessories that gets changed with the T-belt its no problem, as they will all be changed with the belt. h20 pump, thermostat, ectt.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY.
The B5 s4 people over at audizine also think it is the thermostat. I am hoping its nothing that might take a chunk out of my wallet.

Funny thing is i was just admiring my car for having every single leak possible except a coolant leak. And lo and behold i find a nice pink residue in my garage. Life is funny that way.

Anyway if anyone else has an opinion post it here.
Can never have a problem with a second opinion.

I will definitely post the results/ fix once they have been made.
