2.7T Steering Rack Replacement

2000 2.7t, replacing steering rack myself. I've heard its a nightmare. What exactly differs from the 2.7T from the other 30v non turbo models? Also what PITA's should I expect to run into?

Thanks!

No one has been down this road before?

I just did mine last weekend, 3 bolts, two on the top and one on the bottom, the bottom is difficult, you are going to need a ratchet 3" extension and a swivel. You need to go threw the access shield behind the suspension on the drivers side. It is behind the pinion. It took us 2 days to figure that out.

Sorry, just saw that this post was a year old... I just did mine, and now the air bag light has come on.
