I am a student in the motorsports program at UNC Charlotte . I have a senior design project and was considering turbo charging my 2000 audi a6 4.2. It would be similar to a STS setup with a remote mount turbo, possibly where the OEM mufflers are mounted. I am trying to do some research to see if this would be possible. Is it possible to tune the stock ECM to work with a turbo? I do not know of any tuning software available. Are there any aftermarket companies that could custom program an Audi ECU? Any information or ideas would be helpful. Thank You

 

You could probably get a custom setup. Why would you want to? I actually the money AND the time to do this to my 2.8 but everybody talked me out of it. They said it was boost so low its not even worth it.

 

I believe i could get atleast 375 HP running 5-6 psi probably closer to 400. Everything can be fabricated fairly easily and parts can be created in the machine shop. I'm just curious as to whether there are any companies that do custom ECM tuning for audi's or if there are piggyback ECM's that would work. I'm not set on doing this it is just a posibility for a senior design project which would last over two semesters.

 

A supercharger would probably be a more favorable option.
