2000 A6 4.2L - Air Intake Tumble Flaps Frozen
I have a '00 A6 4.2L with 82,000 miles. The tumble flaps inside the air intake manifold are frozen closed. (Not positive on the correct terminology "tumble flaps".) These are the two rows of flaps inside the intake that are opened and closed by the vacuum actuators attached to the front of the intake. Upon inspection, I'm not able to manipulate them by hand and don't see any obstructions inside that have caused both rows of flaps to freeze up in the closed position.
Please let me know how they are installed and removed, and if I can fix the problem with the existing parts. Apparently, there is no repair kit. New intake around $1400, used $300, and no aftermarket.
No luck removing them so far. Not sure what the spring will do if released and don't want to crack the case by prying or pounding on it.
Thanks for any input you have.

We may be "gullible" and helpful around here, but are there any more folks at that (twice already) advertised business to post about the same merchandise-related issue, over and over again?
There's a "Merchants and Vendors" section where you can advertise those great and updated links ad nauseam.

Here are two links below that will help you fix your tumble flappers. They are frequently referred to as "rails". Let me know if you need further information on the repair.
