Well.. let me see if i can describe it any better. Well the car starts but i see both the EPC/Check engine lights on.
Now when i put in drive and hit the accelerator.. duh it doesnt get the acceleration but its moving at its own slow pace. Hope its not
the transmission. Geez ! Any help is appreciated.

No sense in driving the vehicle if it's like that but if the CEL is blinking your not supposed to.
You need to pull the codes with a VagCom. Generic scanners can't read all of the codes. Once you have the codes you can post then and we can look them up for you in the Bentley manual.

Have you checked if your throttle (acceleration) cable is still attached on the throttle body?
It sounds to me that you cannot get any revving up, no matter how hard you press the acceleration pedal. On the other hand, when you engage a "drive" gear, the car just goes at its idle pace.
Like someone else said, probably the throttle position sensor is the culprit (that would be the electric side of it - tripping the EPC light), but then again it sounds to me like your cable doesn't open the butterfly flap (from what you describe)
