You mentioned timing belt, including thermostat. Did you replace the water pump? Could be related to the cooling problem.

Yep. Everything that should be done while you're getting your timing belt done, has been done.

UPDATE: Car drives like butt early in the morning. After a minute the traction light comes on and stays on until I get to work. Only does this in the morning. What is going on here?

CTS is located on the back of the motor near the bank one head. Here is a picture of it on a 2.8, but it is pretty much the same on 2.7.

It is held by a plastic horseshoe shaped clip. When you get a replacement sensor, make sure to get the clip and an o-ring. Before you replace the sensor, make sure the motor is completely cool. Unscrew the reservoir cap to release the pressure, then close the cap tightly. Then remove the sensor and replace it. If you do it right, then you will not loose any fluid other than a couple of drops. No need to bleed the system after the replacement.

One more thing... small hands help.

Thank you very much. Gonna replace it as soon as the part comes in.

Well...I got to the sensor but the ring is coated in an orange sealant of some kind. I can't get close enough to chisel the crap off. And I checked the fuel regulator hose, and it was bone dry.
I'll take it to my indie mechanic and have him take a whack at the sensor and maybe change the transmission fluid while he's at it.

So...after driving this slug-mo-bile around, I'm leaning towards the fuel system. The vehicle is running at 50%. My gas mileage is great, but the power loss is PAINFUL. No CEL, but I can tell the difference. Drives like an 88 LeBaron. Next up is going to be a fuel pressure test. More to come.

Have you checked the EGT's?

Well....got back from the mechanic. The coolant temp sensor was good, but the car will sneak above mid-temp if left in idle for a time. He suspects a bad/clogged radiator for that. As for the power loss....he pulled off the intake tubes for the turbos and found a lot of oil dripping. He thinks the seals on the turbos are shot. Barf. Are the turbos worth rebuilding, or should they be swapped? And is there ANYTHING else that could cause this problem?

*Forgive me for the edit. Had bearings in my head, but it was the seals.
