2002 A6 3.0 RPM surge

surge issue - related issue?
OK...one more issue I have noticed that may or may not be related to my surge problem.
At idle or in park (all running smooth) If I give the gas pendel a QUICK FAST tap the RPM quickly dips for a second to the point the engine almost dies then it recovers (all in about 1 second) This occurs every time I gib=ve it a quick tap. If I start out nice and smooth on the pedal it acts fine.
Also when I was going at like 50-60 mph with the cruise control on...everything runs good but if I again "tap" the gas pedal you can feel the engine shutter for a second again. This again happens every time I tape the pedal put if I smoothly get on the pedal to speed if ...all is good.

Ive seen this before
It was the throttle control module
I have a thread on cleaning my a8 and I know I have photos cleaning it
Its the electrical contacts
They are under a plastic cover on the side of the throttle body
You need to remove the cover and clean the contacts with a finger nail file
It is of the utmost importance that it be your wife's favorite one
Make sure you retention the contacts and apply dielectric grease to any terminals. Retention female terminals with a small pick and. Clean males with the file. You are loosing voltage through bad contacts
Pm me ill get you some photos when I'm at my desktop
It's not a bad job
