Default 2003 Audi A6 3.0L Quattro no compression

I have a 2003 Audi A6 3.0L Quattro. Car has 40,047 Miles on it and its been sitting for a wile. First thing i did was remove the plugs and test for compression. I have 0 psi in all 6 cyclinders. The car will crank and it sounds good cranking but will not run of course. I took a camera down the spark plug holes to check out the tops of my pistons and i did not see any holes. I have the front torn off the car and everything is removed including the valve covers.
I am getting the cam lock tools today to lock the cams. I think the car is out of time and would like to know how to reset the timing in the car. The crank is at top dead center can anyone tell by the cam pictures if its outta time? how far outta time can i go before i bust up the valves? What speciality tools do i need to set the cams? does the lock just lock the cams do i need a tool to rotate the cams so there back in time?

If you get the locking plate for the cams that will put them into time. Get the pin for the crank as well.

After everything is in time, put the belt back on and adjust the tensioner. You can only be out just a few teeth I think before the valves are going to hit the pistons.

Good Luck!

Is the timing belt it tact? If the timing belt is not broken or extremely loose it still should be in time.

Usually 0 compression = Bent valves!

Heres a pic i have the front riped off and have it down to the timing belt. I am trying to figure out what tools i need to do the timing and reposition the cam's. I have the cam lock tools. It honestly looks like someone replaced the water pump. I guess if i retime it and it wont run its time to pull the heads. Wouldent i have compression in at least 1 cyclinder if the pistions slapped the valves? or does it wipe out all the valves?

This is how i got the car not running 0 compressions with timing belt looking like that.... im so stumped someone prolly tried to fix it and retimed it and its prolly the heads.

The quick way to check would be to set the piston at TDC and do a leakdown test.

I would check the timing and do a leakdown test before I pulled the heads.

No comp in all 6- either you have bent all of your valves or your tester doesn't work

Does it crank over fast and free?

Why was it sitting?

If you were just off time you would have compression pull of the valve covers. Look to see if any of your lifters are I the down position or have play under the cam lobes. Test comp again if you feel cranking restance while trying to start.

Otherwise you need to pull the heads

She cranks freely and when i hit the key it sounds good but never attempts to start guess i could check my gauge since its kinda old. Motor is at TDC heres a pic of the heads with the valve covers off.

Looks like an AVK engine. You will need special holders that attach to the camshafts & a crankshaft holder to sure of correct cam timing.

Maybe the compression tester has a shredder valve that you forget to take out. That would cause 0 psi test

I can't really tel anything with a photo of the heads try taking a feeler gauge under the cam lobes. the cam lobes shouldn't be pushing the lifter down when you slide the gauge in.

If at all possible just post a youtube video while you crank it.
