2005 A6-Hot air on side vents with AC on.Help!

In the hot summer months my A6 occasionally blows super hot air out of the side vents. To fix the problem I crank the heat all the way up for 10 seconds then drop it back down to where it was and then the AC slowly starts coming through the side vents. What part is malfunctioning?

Either a stuck swing vent or something similar. Try to pull codes on your climate control
