2005 a split year?
 

Hi all I have a 2005 a6 c6 and I was looking into upgrades threw the dealer with a compand called stasis my service rep is getting me info as far as hp gains but she said that 05 is a split year and she needs to know what my stock hp is.

My question was is there a character in the vin to specify if it's output is 330 or 350hp?

Your service rep is an idiot. 2005 was not a split year, at least in the states. In addition, the A6 did not come with an engine that put out either 330 or 350 HP in 2005. If you have the 3.2 it put out 255 hp and the 4.2 put out 335 HP in 2005. In 2007 the 4.2 added FSI, dropped from 40 valves to 32 valves, and the HP went to 350 HP.
