2007 A6 + Extended Warranty = Good Deal?
Hi all -
I've always wanted a German car, and I am closing in (I think) on purchasing a 2007 A6 from a local dealer. It was a CPO, but if I buy it as a non-CPO I can get an Audi Platinum Extended Vehicle Protection contract for 6 years and either 60k or 72k miles, depending on the how negotiations go. My questions are: 1.) Is the car a good deal. It's an '07 Brilliant Black with tan interior, has the Adv. tech package, cold weather package, premium package, push button start, and has 40k miles. It drives great and looks awesome. How does $29,464 sound to you all? Supposedly this car is the service manager's car, if that means anything. 2.) I want to pick up the 6 year/60k or 70k miles warranty. Right now the dealer is basically offering to take 40% off the list for the Platinum (semi-bumper-to-bumper) coverage. What I wonder is what kind of mark-up dealers have on those warranties? I am thinking they probably mark them up by 100% over what they pay Audi, so I am thinking I can still work another 10% out of them and they would not be taking a lose on it (just breaking even and making money on the car). Any thoughts are most definitely appreciated. :) TIA |
First question, which engine?

Whoa... sorry... that would help, wouldn't it. 3.2L

I'd offer him $28K with the 6 year/72K mile warranty included in the price. This is just a WAG since I don't know what your market is like.
Good luck, Mike |
Here in Norway that car would be worth somewhere around $85.000,-....
:D |
Yes, but in Norway one could wade in crude on the streets...
