2007 A6 Won't start
 

Hey guys this is my very first post here, and it seems I am in quite the pickle. I recently purchased a second hand 2007 A6 Quattro. I've had it for almost two months, and on Monday when I went to leave for work I turned the key and got nothing. The radio comes on, but there is no engine activity at all. No starter click or any other obvious issue. I took the battery in to have it checked out hoping for an easy fix, but the battery is perfect. I've done a lot of digging, and this seems to be a fairly common issue with this model, or at least seems common based on the amount of responses I found online. It appears that this problem is the same as mine. I poked around a good bit after identifying that to see if I could find a solution I could implement myself instead of spending half of what I just spent on the car two months ago at the dealer. I found and other similar videos. I thought it was worth trying, but I was hoping to avoid buying a $300 cable if possible. So I ordered on Amazon in hopes that it would work to clear the code. As you can see by my hopeful attempts to fix it I am trying to do so on a fairly tight budget. Has anyone experienced a similar issue, and how did you end up getting it corrected? I simply cannot afford to have the dealer bill me $2,000+ to get this fixed. Any help at all is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

This morning I tried messing with it some more before work. I must be missing step in overriding the key. The tool is not connecting to any systems to pull codes. Has anyone had success pulling codes without being able to start to the car?
