I recently purchased a 2007 Audi A6 Wagon. Unfortunately, the Multi Media Interface system stopped working. After doing some research and bringing the car to the dealer, I found out that the problem was a dead amplifier as a result of the rear washer fluid leaking into the area where the amp is located. I would like to keep the repair costs for this issue as low as possible. I am thinking of purchasing an amp on Ebay (one that matches the part # on my vehicle). My question is, what would the process be if I chose to do this? Would the Sound Amplifier Basic be the only piece of equipment I would need to buy? Could any mechanic install it or would it have to be an Audi dealer? Also, would I need to bring the car to the dealership upon installation to have the system coded?
