Default 2014 A6 TDI, ECU upgrade choices, and wear

Hi,

Been reading these this forum for a while. This is my first time posting.

I just purchased a 2014 A6 TDI, as the subject would indicate. It was quite a decision between the TFSI and the TDI, but I finally went with the diesel. The torque won me over.

I'm looking into ECU upgrades, but I'm apprehensive. I've found two for the car, and they seem to be different. Any recommendations? Is APR the best way to go? What about ChipExpress in the UK. The latter seems to be a simpler and equally effective solution, and I can easily unplug it before any dealer warranty or maintenance work. Any thoughts?

- APR - APR 3.0 TDI ECU Upgrade!
- ChipExpress - Diesel Tuning Chip for Audi A6 3.0 TDI 245PS / 180kW / 242bhp

Can the standard transmission handle the increase bhp and torque?

Also, with an ECU and typical driving (i.e., spirited but not too aggressive), what level of wear can I expect? Far more? Standard amount? Am I going to find myself in the shop far more often 3, 4, 5 years down the road?

Any input is greatly appreciated. Thanks.
