Not that I know of. Only installer I found has it for the 4.2 S6 Avant, not for our engine

As far as I know - GIAC has what we need :-) I am going to try it probably next month...

Oops, had that backwards, saw the GIAC for the 4.2, but not the S6.

I have not gone for a ride in a 4.2l car with a tip but I did go for a ride in a 2.7T car with a tip chip. The fellow had 2 TCU's one GIAC tip chip and 1 non chipped. NIGHT AND DAY difference definitely worth the tip file

Hi Baskin. I see that you put a 6 speed in a 4.2 A6. I went to your site but could not find any info on it. How difficult was that mod to do?

The Vast performance is not my site it is the site of the people that did the work for me (the s8 motor conversion and 6 speed conversion )They are in Detroit

The conversion was very labor intensive. I have worked on all my BMW's my self everything from my 850 to my last car the M5. I worked with the guys at vast and we did it in under a week. The custom program took the longest time. For what they charged me in labor it was definitely not worth doing myself.

What I would suggest is getting the gear upgrade for your car that is less expensive than the trans swap and makes a world of difference
