That sounds a little steep. I would try calling an independent shop that works on Audis. They usually just charge for the hours that it is logged as and parts. They would be much cheaper. I recommend calling a local performance shop that knows what they are doing. Usually Porsche and Audi. Never get your car serviced at the stealership...

Hmmm... The only thing I can think of is timing belt, belt tensioner, and waterpump, but that really isn't until 90K miles. What you really need to do is get your hands on the maintenance schedule, then determine what has been done, and what needs to be done, and when. For my other vehicles, I keep this information in an Excel spreadsheet, along with milage and gas costs, and a couple of macros that look at my milage rates and forcast when my next service interval is going to be, and it sends an Outlook task reminder. I haven't gotten around to creating a new one yet for my A6... But then again, I'm a mechanical engineer and a bit of an odd duck. I also don't let other mechanics touch my car unless absolutely, positively necessary. I do all my own work, and there is very little I can't do myself.
